Position

Live-in Domestic Couple for the overall management of a private family home and property. The family has a main house 500 sqm and a nearby guest house 60 sqm, where the selected couple will live.

Family with two boys aged 6 and 8.

Pets

The property has several animals ( donkeys, sheeps and chickens ) which will form part of the couple’s regular responsibilities. Days & Hours: hours 09:00- 13:00 and 16:30-19:30 Monday , Tuesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday, with Wednesday and Sunday. Some flexibility may occasionally be required for babysitting.

Salary

Between €1,450 and €1,800 net per month per person, depending on each candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and overall suitability for the role. All legally required Social Security contributions will be covered by the employer. Complimentary Private Accommodation: The couple will be provided with free, fully furnished, independent accommodation in a charming guesthouse with a private garden located next to the main residence, offering privacy and comfort. The guesthouse includes: A comfortable double bed; A separate bathroom; A washing machine and tumble dryer; A fully equipped, open-plan kitchen with a kitchen island; A cosy living area with a sofa and television; High-speed internet access; Underfloor heating and air conditioning.

Duties

• The selected couple will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the property and should work with a high level of autonomy, organizing themselves efficiently, anticipating the family’s needs and genuinely helping make everyday life easier.
• He will mainly be responsible for the general maintenance of both houses and the outdoor areas.
• His duties will include basic property maintenance, minor repairs, exterior cleaning, irrigation and gardening, support with pool upkeep and general supervision of the installations and condition of the property.
• He will also be responsible for the care of the family’s animals, ensuring that they are properly looked after on a daily basis.
• Driving will be an important part of the role.
• He must hold a valid driving licence and be an experienced, confident driver, as he may need to act as chauffeur, run errands, do household shopping and handle other practical tasks for the family.
• She will mainly be responsible for the interior of the home, including general and deep cleaning, tidying and organization, laundry, high-quality ironing and the day-to-day management of the household.
• Cooking will also be an important part of the role, particularly preparing simple, good-quality everyday meals and dinners for the family.
• The family is not necessarily looking for a professional chef, but she should be a confident home cook who can prepare meals independently.
• A higher level of cooking will be very positively valued.
• And previous experience as a professional cleaner is a must.
• Both members of the couple should feel comfortable working in a home with children.
• Although the family is very present in their children’s care, occasional support may be needed, including some babysitting, particularly on certain evenings.
• During the summer months, and some Easter or Christmas week the family normally travels and rents out the main residence to guests.
• During these periods, the couple will remain responsible for overseeing the property and ensuring that it is maintained to a very high standard throughout the rental period.
• This will include being available to support the smooth running of the property, ensuring daily excellent cleanliness, presentation, care and general maintenance, preparing and deep cleaning the house between stays when necessary, identifying any issues and coordinating practical solutions so that both the property and the guests are properly looked after.
• For the periods in which the main residence is rented, the cooking task will not be required only cleaning of the house.
• In addition, guests commonly leave tips for the household staff at the end of their stay, which the couple would normally receive in addition to their salary.

Requirements

• Previous experience working together as a live-in domestic couple in private households, villas, estates or similar properties.
• The family is looking for a couple with a very high level of autonomy, capable of organizing themselves, making practical decisions, anticipating needs and managing the day-to-day running of the property without constant instruction.
• It is essential that they are positive, honest, responsible, discreet, practical, hardworking and highly trustworthy, with good judgement, a genuine service-oriented attitude and the ability to work naturally as part of the family team.
• For him, a valid driving licence and solid driving experience are essential, together with experience or practical knowledge in maintenance, outdoor areas, gardening and animal care.
• For her, a very good and high standard of cleaning, ironing, household organization and everyday cooking is required.
• Both should be comfortable taking additional responsibility for the property during the periods when it is occupied by summer guests.
• English is not essential, although it will be positively valued.
• Good verifiable references and valid authorization to work in Spain are essential.
