Position

Domestic Couple / Estate Caretakers for a private country property.

Household members

The household is two adults, although other family members and guests visit the property from time to time. The owners spend approximately 4 to 6 months per year in Spain, and the rest of the year at other residences.

Pets

No pets. Days & Hours: Monday to Saturday, mainly during the morning, with the working day organized according to the regular needs of the property.

As soon as they find the correct couple.

Location

Close to Lucena, Córdoba. The couple will live in a house rented for them by the family in a nearby village, approximately 5 minutes from the property.

Salary

From €1,600 net per month per person in 12 payments + Social Security. The family is open to considering higher salaries depending on the candidates’ experience, skills and expectations. Their priority is to find a highly professional and experienced couple capable of providing an excellent standard of service and taking pride in the care of the household. The family will rent a house for the couple in a nearby village, approximately 5 minutes from the property.

Duties

• The selected couple will be jointly responsible for the overall care, maintenance and smooth running of the estate, working under the coordination of the family’s House Manager, who will oversee the property and organize priorities and responsibilities.
• Inside the property, responsibilities will include general and deep cleaning, dusting, laundry, high-quality ironing and keeping the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and common areas clean, tidy and well organized.
• Given the size of the property, with around 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, it is important that the couple are highly organized, efficient and able to maintain consistent standards throughout the house.
• They will also be expected to prepare the property properly before the family arrives and ensure that everything remains well maintained during the periods when the owners are away.
• Outside, they will help care for terraces, outdoor furniture, plants and vegetable beds, including watering and basic upkeep.
• They will also keep storage areas organized and remain attentive to the overall condition of the estate.
• The role includes general property upkeep: managing rubbish and recycling, carrying out basic maintenance checks, identifying possible issues and arranging or coordinating external professionals when more complex repairs are required.
• They may also be responsible for grocery shopping, receiving deliveries, running errands and helping with anything necessary to ensure that the property is always ready for the family.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a domestic couple, estate caretakers or in similar roles within country houses, estates or large private homes.
• The family is looking for a couple who are autonomous, responsible, honest, hardworking, organized and completely trustworthy, with the ability to coordinate well with each other and work effectively under the guidance of the House Manager.
• Good judgement, initiative and the ability to notice what needs attention before it becomes a problem are very important.
• Experience with basic maintenance, outdoor care, simple gardening and the practical day-to-day management of a large property will be highly valued.
• At least one member of the couple must have a valid driving licence, and the couple should have access to their own vehicle, as they will be living a few minutes away from the estate and may need to run errands or travel locally.
• They may speak Spanish or English.
• Good verifiable references and valid authorization to work in Spain are required.
