Location

Alaró - Mallorca. The family has a main house of 500 m² and a nearby guest house of 60 m², where the selected couple will live. A short walk from a village and public transport.

Salary

From 1,800 to 2,400 € net per month in 12 payments, depending on experience, skills and overall profile, + Social Security. Private accommodation will be provided as part of the live-in arrangement. Any other exceptional availability, such as caring for children at night or additional work outside the usual hours, will be agreed in advance with the family.

Days and hours

From 09:00 to 13:00 and from 16:30 to 19:30, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with Wednesday and Sunday off. Occasionally some flexibility may be required to care for the children at night.

Duties

• The selected candidate will be responsible for the smooth daily running of the household and must manage her responsibilities with a very high level of autonomy and decision-making ability.
• Her main duties will include general and thorough cleaning, tidiness and organisation, laundry, high-quality ironing, wardrobe management and the general, daily care of the house.
• Cooking will also be an important part of the role, in particular preparing simple, good-quality lunches and dinners for the family.
• The family does not necessarily seek a professional chef, but the candidate must be a confident home cook, able to plan and prepare meals independently.
• A higher level of cooking will be highly valued.
• She is also expected to take charge of the family's animals, ensuring they are well cared for and helping with their daily care.
• Driving will be an important aspect of the role.
• The candidate must hold a valid driving licence and be a safe, experienced driver, as she may need to run errands, do the household shopping, help with practical tasks and, when necessary, assist with occasional family journeys or the transport of the children.
• She must also feel comfortable working in a home with children.
• Although the parents are very present in their children's lives, occasional support may be required, such as helping with routines, being with the children when necessary and looking after them some nights.
• The family is specifically looking for someone who can see what needs to be done, make sensible decisions and act without waiting for constant instructions.
• The ability to anticipate needs, take on responsibility and genuinely make the family's everyday life easier is one of the most important aspects of the role.
• During the summer months, the family usually travels and rents out the main residence to guests.
• During these periods, the selected candidate will remain responsible for supervising the property and ensuring it is kept in excellent condition and clean throughout the rental period.
• She must pay particular attention to cleanliness, tidiness, presentation and the care of the house, prepare the property between stays when necessary, spot any problems that arise and help coordinate what is needed so that both the property and the guests are well looked after.
• During these periods, no cooking will be required, only cleaning and maintaining the house and the animals, and working hours will be adjusted accordingly.
• In addition, guests often leave tips for the household staff, which the candidate would normally receive in addition to her salary.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a live-in housekeeper or family assistant in private homes.
• The family is looking for someone with an exceptionally high level of autonomy, able to organise the household, set priorities, make practical decisions and manage her responsibilities independently.
• She must be positive, honest, responsible, discreet, practical, hardworking, very organised and fully trustworthy, with excellent judgement and a genuine service attitude.
• A very good level of cleaning, laundry, ironing, household organisation and daily cooking is required.
• She must feel truly comfortable with animals and be willing to help with their daily care.
• A valid driving licence and solid driving experience are essential.
• She must also feel comfortable taking on additional responsibility for the property during the summer periods when it is occupied by guests.
• English is not essential, although it will be viewed positively.
• Good, verifiable references and valid authorisation to work in Spain are essential.
