Start Date
January, ideally before the baby’s arrival so the selected candidate can settle into the family routine and support the mother during the final stage of pregnancy.

Duties

  • This is a genuinely combined nanny and housekeeping role, so the selected candidate should feel equally comfortable caring for the children and taking responsibility for the general upkeep of the home.
  • On the childcare side, during the pregnancy she will support the family with their 7-year-old daughter, helping with her daily routines, organization, play, activities and general care.
  • Once the baby arrives, the role will naturally include support with newborn care.
  • The family is therefore especially interested in someone with solid experience caring for babies and young children, who feels confident with feeding, changing, hygiene, sleep routines, settling, walks and age-appropriate stimulation.
  • As the mother is planning a C-section, the family would particularly value someone calm, practical and reliable who can provide real support during the first weeks after delivery.
  • Alongside childcare, the candidate will also be responsible for the general household duties, including cleaning and deep cleaning, tidying, laundry, ironing, wardrobe organization and helping keep the home running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Cooking is not required, as the mother of the family is the person who normally prepares the meals.
  • The candidate should also be comfortable living and working in a home with a large but very friendly dog.
  • The family is looking for someone who can understand priorities, move naturally between childcare and housekeeping and become a genuinely helpful and dependable presence in the home.

Requirements

  • Solid previous experience both in childcare and private-household housekeeping is important.
  • Experience with newborns and young babies will be especially valued.
  • The ideal candidate should be positive, warm, affectionate, patient, responsible, organized, proactive and highly trustworthy, with good judgement and a genuine vocation for childcare.
  • She should integrate easily into family life, work collaboratively with the parents and help create a calm, organized and supportive atmosphere at home.
  • A very good standard of cleaning, laundry and ironing is also essential, as the household responsibilities form an important part of the position.
  • Fluent English is essential.
  • A driving licence is not required but would be very positively valued.
  • Excellent verifiable references and valid authorization to work in Spain are required.
