About the job

Position
Live-out Housekeeper for a private rural property / farm.
Household members
Couple with no children living at home. Pets & animals: One large dog and other animals on the farm. Days & Hours: Ideally, the preferred schedule would be Tuesday to Saturday, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, for a total of 30 hours per week. This is the schedule the family has worked with successfully for many years and is the arrangement they are most comfortable with. However, if this schedule were not possible for the right candidate, the family would also be open to a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Some flexibility may occasionally be required depending on the needs of the household.
Start Date
Ideally January 2027. Exact dates are still to be confirmed. The selected candidate will be replacing a long-standing member of staff who is expected to retire at the beginning of 2027. Whenever possible, the family would like to arrange a handover period during which the new housekeeper and the current employee work together, allowing him to explain the routines, systems, organization of the household and day-to-day functioning of the property before his departure. The aim is to make the transition as smooth as possible and ensure that the new candidate has time to become familiar with the way the property is run before taking over the role independently.
Salary
€1,800 per month in 12 payments for 30 hours per week + Social Security.

Duties

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for the general care and organization of the home, including regular and deep cleaning, laundry, high-quality ironing, wardrobe organization and maintaining bedrooms and common areas in excellent condition.
  • She will also be expected to care properly for fine furnishings, antiques and delicate materials, manage groceries and household supplies, prepare shopping lists and assist with errands and other practical day-to-day tasks when required.
  • The position also includes occasional kitchen support and preparation of seasonal produce from the farm, as well as helping prepare the house when the family receives guests or organizes special events.
  • The family is looking for someone who can manage her responsibilities with autonomy, notice what needs to be done and keep the home well organized without constant supervision.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in private households, ideally in country houses, estates or rural properties.
  • It is important that the candidate genuinely feels comfortable working in a farm environment and around animals, as the property is part of an active rural setting.
  • The family is looking for someone responsible, discreet, organized, hardworking, positive, trustworthy and proactive, with very good attention to detail and a high level of autonomy.
  • Experience caring for delicate materials, good ironing skills and strong household organization will be especially valued.
  • A valid driving licence and own car are required due to the location of the property.
  • Good Spanish communication skills, verifiable references and valid authorization to work in Spain are essential.
