Duties

  • The nanny will be primarily responsible for the care, development and wellbeing of the family’s 2.5-year-old daughter.
  • She attends a British nursery until approximately 3:00 pm, so the role will combine traditional childcare with a strong developmental and educational focus.
  • The family is looking for someone who is genuinely excellent with young children: warm, energetic, creative, affectionate and highly engaged.
  • The nanny should plan age-appropriate activities, outdoor play, reading, arts and crafts, sensory activities and games that support language, independence, confidence and psychomotor development.
  • She should also help reinforce good routines and habits, encourage curiosity and learning through play, and support the child’s nursery experience and educational development as she grows.
  • As the child becomes older, the nanny should be comfortable supporting early learning, school-related routines and age-appropriate educational activities.
  • The role also includes managing the child’s daily routines, meals, bath time, bedtime, clothing and belongings, as well as accompanying the family when travelling.
  • The nanny should also be comfortable providing occasional support with the family’s 5-year-old boy when he is staying with them.
  • Experience with newborns would be particularly appreciated, as the family hopes to expand in the future.

Requirements

  • Excellent English is essential.
  • Fluent or native-level French would be a significant advantage.
  • Previous professional experience caring for toddlers is required, ideally within private households.
  • A background in Early Years Education, childcare, teaching or a related field will be especially valued.
  • The ideal candidate should be positive, warm, energetic, responsible, discreet, highly reliable and proactive, with excellent judgement and a genuine vocation for childcare.
  • She should be comfortable working as part of an established household team and communicate naturally and professionally with the parents.
  • Flexibility for weekend work, occasional overnight stays and international travel is essential.
  • EU citizenship would be highly valued, although a valid Spanish residence and work permit is sufficient.
  • Excellent verifiable references are required.
