Duties

• The main responsibility of the selected person will be the comprehensive management of the home and the kitchen.
• They will be in charge of general and thorough cleaning, tidiness and organization of the home, laundry, clothing care, good ironing and daily upkeep of the house.
• The kitchen is a particularly important part of the position.
• The candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, cooking for the family when they eat at home and, especially, preparing the family dinner, as they usually have dinner together with the children, although they do not always eat together; sometimes the children have dinner earlier, at 7:30pm, and sometimes together at 8:00pm.
• They must also leave the kitchen and the areas used properly tidied after meals.
• The family already has a live-out nanny who works 40 hours per week and mainly takes care of the children, especially the 3-month-old baby, who will remain at home until starting nursery school next September.
• Therefore, this position is not primarily designed as a nanny role.
• However, as this is a household with three children, it will be important for the live-in person to be willing to occasionally support them, especially when the older children return from school around 5:30–6:00pm, working in a coordinated way with the nanny and the parents when necessary.
• The family is looking for someone capable of running the household with a high degree of autonomy, organizing their own day well, identifying what needs to be done and helping to keep daily home life comfortable, orderly and smooth.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a live-in domestic worker in private homes and a very good standard of cleaning, organization, laundry, ironing and home-style family cooking.
• It is important that the person is used to managing a home independently and can organize their tasks without needing constant instructions.
• They are looking for a responsible, honest, hardworking, organized, discreet, positive person of absolute trust, with a good temperament and an ability to work as part of a team with both the family and the nanny who already works in the home.
• Although their main role will be domestic, they must feel comfortable in a home with young children, have a good attitude towards them and be willing to occasionally help when needed.
• A valid work permit and documentation in order are essential.
