Start Date

January, following the family’s relocation to Barcelona at the end of December.

Salary

€2,000–€2,200 gross per month in 14 payments + Social Security, depending on experience and profile. The position includes a private bedroom in the family home, with a bathroom shared with the twins, as well as full room and board. Accommodation and meals are provided as an additional benefit and are not deducted from the salary. The family is also willing to cover reasonable relocation costs for the right candidate if relocation to Barcelona is required.

Duties

• The nanny will be fully focused on the twins and everything related to their daily care, routines and development.
• Responsibilities will include preparing and cooking their meals, feeding, bath and bedtime routines, changing and dressing, organizing their clothes and laundry, keeping their bedroom and play areas tidy, and accompanying them to and from nursery on foot.
• Beyond their daily care, the family is looking for someone who is genuinely excellent with young children and who will take an active role in supporting their development.
• The nanny should be attentive to their psychomotor, emotional, social and language development, encouraging age-appropriate play, reading, sensory activities, movement, exploration and early learning.
• As the children grow, she should also be able to support nursery and school routines, help with age-appropriate educational activities and, later on, assist with schoolwork and homework when needed.
• The ideal candidate will know how to create a warm, stimulating and structured environment, encouraging independence, curiosity and good habits while remaining affectionate, patient and attentive to each child’s individual personality and needs.
• The family is looking for someone who truly enjoys spending time with children, has very good instincts with them and can become an important and positive figure in their everyday life.
• The family will employ a separate part-time housekeeper, so this is not a combined nanny-housekeeper role.
• The nanny will, however, be responsible for everything directly related to the children and will also provide some support with the family’s two small dogs as part of the normal daily routine.

Requirements

• Bulgarian is essential, as the family would like the twins to grow up hearing Bulgarian at home.
• In addition, the candidate must be able to communicate in Spanish, Catalan or English.
• The family would particularly value Bulgarian-speaking candidates who are already living in Spain, although they are also open to relocating the right candidate from Bulgaria.
• Solid previous experience caring for babies or toddlers of a similar age is essential, and experience with twins will be especially valued.
• The family is looking for someone warm, affectionate, patient, responsible, energetic, positive and highly reliable, with a genuine vocation for childcare and a strong understanding of child development.
• It is important that she can combine affection with structure, encourage learning through play and confidently manage two young children independently.
• It is also very important that the candidate feels completely comfortable and genuinely positive about working with a two-dad family and becoming part of their family environment.
• The family is looking for someone open-minded, respectful and interested in developing a close, stable and long-term relationship with the children.
• Good verifiable references are essential.
