Days and hours

Monday to Friday, from 16:30 to 20:30. Fairly fixed schedule. The working day begins with picking up the children from school and continues at home until their afternoon routines are finished.

Duties

  • The family is looking for a person whose role goes far beyond the usual childcare.
  • Their main responsibility will be to actively accompany the children in their development, education and growth over the coming years.
  • You will organise the afternoons with activities, educational games, storytelling, stimulation, psychomotor development and proposals adapted to each stage.
  • You are expected to make the most of the time with the children by playing with them, but always from an educational and developmental perspective.
  • The selected person will pick up the children when appropriate, return home with them and organise their afternoon routines.
  • Dinner is approximately between 19:15 and 19:30, and the children should be ready for bed around 20:00.
  • You will also need to stay attentive to their daily needs and work closely with the parents to maintain consistency in routines, habits and educational goals, as well as with their school teacher.
  • The parents are very present and involved and are looking for someone who forms a true team with them.
  • They want the tutor to be able to communicate with the school teachers, know what the children are working on, share their own observations and help give continuity at home to whatever is beneficial for their development.

Requirements

  • A bilingual or near-native level of English is essential, and it must be used naturally with the children.
  • Training related to early childhood education, pedagogy, teaching or similar areas will be especially valued.
  • Candidates who are currently studying a degree related to education and who can combine their studies with this afternoon work may also be considered, provided they have previous experience with babies and young children, a clear vocation for early childhood education and a high level of commitment.
  • Knowledge of educational methodologies such as Montessori or other approaches to stimulation and child development will be especially valued.
  • The family is looking for someone with educational knowledge and judgement, but also dynamic, affectionate, approachable, positive and with a very good temper.
  • You must genuinely enjoy being with children, have the initiative to propose activities and know how to adapt games and stimuli to their different ages.
  • They are especially looking for someone who truly invests in their development, observes their progress, detects areas that could be strengthened and shares those observations with the parents.
  • It is important that you are an honest, responsible, organised person of absolute trust, and able to work as part of a team with a family that is very involved in their children's education.
  • The intention is to establish a long-term relationship, so stability and the desire to accompany the children through different stages of their growth will be especially valued.
  • The family is also willing to support and fund certain courses, training or methodologies that may be of interest to the tutor and that can subsequently be applied for the benefit of the children's education and development.
  • They are therefore looking for someone with professional curiosity and a desire to keep learning and improving.
  • A driving licence and the ability to drive safely are essential.
  • The school is approximately 7 minutes by car from the home.
  • Owning a car will be viewed positively, although it is not essential, as the family can provide a vehicle for travel related to the children.
