Position

Live-out Night Newborn Specialist / Qualified Paediatric Nurse for a baby who will be approximately 5 months old at the start of the position.

Household members

Private international family. Days & Hours: Primarily a night position, as the family does not require daytime support. The candidate should be available for shifts of up to approximately 12 hours per night, depending on the family’s needs and the baby’s routine.

Start Date

Around March/April 2027. The initial position is expected to last approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension if both the family and the candidate feel it is the right fit. The family sees these first six months as an especially important transition period in which they want the baby to receive an exceptionally high level of support, continuity and specialist care.

Salary

From 150 to 200 Euros the night, depending on the experience and expectations of the candidate. (Equal to 4,500 to 6,000 Euros/month).

Duties

• This is a highly specialised childcare position focused exclusively on the baby’s wellbeing, health, sleep and development.
• The selected candidate will be expected to provide expert overnight care, confidently managing the baby’s feeding, settling, sleep routines, hygiene, changing, comfort and any age-appropriate needs throughout the night.
• The family is looking for someone with an exceptional understanding of infant care who can monitor the baby carefully, identify changes or concerns, respond calmly and appropriately, and communicate clearly with the parents when necessary.
• The role requires someone who understands infant development in depth and can support healthy routines while respecting the family’s preferences and the baby’s individual needs.
• A key objective of the role is to provide the family with maximum support and peace of mind during the baby’s first months, ensuring a smooth and well-supported transition through this important developmental stage.
• If, after the initial six-month period, both sides are happy and feel that continued support would be beneficial, the position may be extended.
• Before confirming the position, the family would like the selected candidate to complete a paid trial in Switzerland.
• This will allow both the family and the candidate to assess the fit before the official start of the role in Barcelona.
• The candidate may also occasionally be required to travel with the family, including to Switzerland, the Balearic Islands and other European destinations.
• Any periods of travel will be arranged in advance and paid separately in addition to the regular salary.

Requirements

• The family is seeking a highly qualified and exceptionally experienced professional.
• A recognised nursing qualification is essential, together with extensive professional experience caring for newborns and young infants.
• Paediatric and/or neonatal nursing experience will be particularly valued.
• Current CPR training and certification are essential.
• The candidate must have excellent, verifiable professional references and a strong track record in high-level infant care, ideally within private households or similarly demanding environments.
• Excellent English is essential.
• The family is looking for someone mature, serious, highly discreet, calm, polished and professional, who understands how to work within a private household and knows how to maintain complete confidentiality.
• The candidate must be available to complete the paid trial in Switzerland before the position begins and be willing to accompany the family on occasional trips when required.
• Due to the international travel involved, the candidate must hold citizenship of an EU country, allowing her to travel and work with the family across the relevant European destinations without immigration restrictions.
