Household members

Two adults usually live in the house. Every two weeks, an 11-year-old boy spends part of the week and the weekend at the house. An 18-year-old young woman also occasionally spends a Saturday at home.

Pets

Two dogs (one small and one large), much loved.

Start date

As soon as possible. Urgent search. The selected person will replace the current housekeeper, whose work with the family ends on 13 November.

Location

La Moraleja, Madrid. The house is approximately a 5-minute walk from a bus stop.

Salary

€1,517 gross per month in 12 payments + Social Security.

Housing

House spread over two floors, plus a basement where the gym is located.

The schedule alternates

one week you will work Monday to Friday. The following week you will work five days including Saturday, with Sunday and one weekday off. In this way, the working week remains five days. The week in which Saturday is worked coincides with the boy's stay at the house, who normally arrives Wednesday afternoon and stays until Sunday.

Duties

• The selected person will be responsible for the smooth daily running of the house and must be able to manage the household independently.
• Her main responsibilities will include general and thorough cleaning, order and organization, laundry, clothing care and very good ironing, keeping all areas of the house well maintained.
• Cooking will also be an important part of the role.
• The candidate must know how to prepare good-quality home-cooked meals for everyday life, organize menus and keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
• She must show initiative to identify what needs to be done, organize her tasks and keep the house running properly without needing constant instructions.
• During the week the boy is at home, occasional support with him may be necessary.
• He is already quite independent and spends much of the day at school, so this is not a nanny position as such.
• However, it is important that the candidate has a good way with children, feels comfortable with them and can help with a routine, meals or supervision when needed.
• She must also feel comfortable working in a house with two small dogs, as they live indoors.

Requirements

• Proven previous experience working in private homes and real ability to run a household independently.
• A very high standard of cleaning, laundry, ironing, organization and daily cooking is required.
• The family is looking for a cheerful, competent, responsible, honest, organized, stable person of absolute trust, with initiative, good judgement and the ability to anticipate the household's needs.
• It is important that she is interested in a stable, long-term working relationship and can integrate naturally into the family dynamic.
• She must also have a good way with children, although childcare support will be occasional only.
• Spanish is essential.
• Good verifiable references and a valid work permit are required.
